Frets – the space between the metal bars on the neck. You put your fingers there.
Neck – the long stick coming off of the body. It holds the frets and has the headstock on one end of it
Body – the big wood box at the end of the neck. It holds the pickguard and bridge. In acoustics, it has a sound hole and is hollow to make the sound louder. In electrics, it has the pickups, the output jack, the pickup selector, and the tone/volume knobs.
Tuners -The tabs on the headstock that are used for tuning.
Sound Hole – The place where the sound in an acoustic’s body comes out.
Pickguard – A piece of plastic to protect the wood from scratching of a pick.
Pickups – The place on the electric where the magnetic field of the strings‘ vibration is picked up. Depending on where they are placed you will get different sound.
Pickup selector – A knob used to select which pickups should be used.
Tone/Volume Knobs – Knobs to adjust volume, bass, and treble
Bridge – The place where the strings start.
Pick – A piece of plastic used to pluck strings.
